10 Must-Have WordPress Plug-ins

If you use Wordpress to power your blog (and if you don’t, why not?), then you know there are a ton of plugins you can download and install to give your Wordpress blog more capabilities and powers. While there are plenty of plugins which get a lot of love throughout the blog-o-sphere, here are ten plugins which don’t get as much attention but deserve to be part of your plugin aresenal.

1.All-In-One SEO Pack (http://semperfiwebdesign.com/): This plug-in features numerous options which will help make your blog SEO friendly.

2.Twitter Tools (http://alexking.org/projects/wordpress): If you have a Twitter account, then you could use this plug-in to automatically notify your Twitter followers of a new post to your blog.

3.Google Analyticator (http://cavemonkey50.com/code/google-analyticator/): Google Analytics is THE statistics analyzer for web sites. To get started using it, first install this plug-in.

4.End Content (http://www.thefunkhouse.co.uk/wordpress-plugins/end-content): This allows you to add content to the end of a post or page. I use it to add links so visitors can follow me on Twitter, subscribe to my RSS feed, or send me an email.

5.Google Sitemaps (http://www.arnebrachhold.de/2005/06/05/google-sitemaps-generator-v2-final): This will create a Google compliant sitemap of your WordPress blog.

6.Spam Karma 2 (http://unknowngenius.com/blog/wordpress/spam-karma/): If you hate comment spam, then you’ll be forever thankful for this plug-in.

7.WordPress Related Posts (http://fairyfish.net/2007/09/12/wordpress-23-related-posts-plugin/): Generates a related posts list via tags. Very useful to help keep visitors on your site by providing them even more posts to check out.
8.Add Meta Tags (http://www.g-loaded.eu/2006/01/05/add-meta-tags-wordpress-plugin/): Adds the post’s categories and excerpt to the “keywords” and the “description” XHTML meta tags respectively, while viewing single posts. It also adds the blog’s description and categories to the “description” and the “keywords” meta tags respectively on the home page.

9.RSS Footer (http://yoast.com/wordpress/rss-footer/): This very simple plug-in let’s you add an extra line of content to articles in your feed, defaulting to “Post from: ” and then a link back to your blog, with your blog’s name as it’s anchor text.

10.ShareThis (http://sharethis.com/): Let your visitors share a post/page with others. Supports e-mail and posting to social bookmarking sites.
