Keeping a personal journal or a diary has been a staple of some people’s lives. They are a great way to not only chronicle your life but they can also be a great way to measure how you have grown and (hopefully) changed as a person. So why not keep a journal about your professional life or business?
For the past couple of years, I`ve been keeping track of my daily work in a work journal. My “work journal” is nothing more than a Word document which I keep open throughout the day for easy access. I use it to write down when I complete a task or come up with an idea or anything else which I feel relates to my professional life.
This is the third and final part of my How To Setup A WordPress Blog series. In How To Setup A WordPress Blog Part One, I covered why you should consider using WordPress if you are considering starting a blog for professional reasons or if you thinking about switching blog platforms. Then in Part Two, I talked about how you need a hosting plan and domain name before you setup a WordPress blog. I also covered the steps you have to take to install WordPress using the Fantastico program which most hosting companies offer.
Now I’m going to go over some of the steps you should take in order to setup your newly installed WordPress blog. The instructions here in this part apply to WordPress 2.9.2. If you have an earlier version, then some of these instructions may not coincide with the WordPress version you have. These steps will help make your WordPress blog easier for you to manage and maintain along with making your blog more SEO friendly which is vital if you plan on blogging for professional or business reasons. I’ll end this last part with some plugins which I heartily recommend you to try. There’s a lot to this last part so let’s get started!
Hopefully you have read How To Setup A WordPress Blog Part 1 where I discussed why you should use WordPress as your blogging platform. I have been using WordPress for every blog I’ve ever been involved with. Besides being free, WordPress offers users numerous plugins which give WordPress blogs different capabilities, it allows you to customize themes so you can design how your WP blog looks, and so much more!
In this second part, I’m going to explain how easy it is to install Wordpress along with what to look for when shopping for a hosting plan and how to buy a domain name.

This How To Setup A WordPress Blog three-part series will cover how I setup the My Adventure Today blog using WordPress. It is the same trouble-free process I have used in the past when setting up other WordPress blogs.
I will lead you step-by-step on how I do it beginning with the installation of the WordPress application to setting up various Dashboard options which will help you manage your WordPress blog, and wrapping things up with where you can download different themes and plug-ins for your WordPress blog.

Questions. Where would we be without questions. Every great discovery, invention, idea, relationship, and so on began with a question. Everything that we do practically begins with a question:
“Should I get up now or hit the snooze button?”
“What if I invested my money into real estate instead of mutual funds?”
“If I decide not to go, what will she think of me?”
“Would I have more fun going out tonight or staying in?”
We ask ourselves questions countless times throughout the day. While our answers to these questions play a huge part in the direction our lives travel, the questions we ask ourselves are equally- if not- as important!
Anyone who blogs runs into this problem at one time or the other: what to write about. There will be those days where you just sit and stare at the computer screen, hoping an interesting blog topic would pop into your head. When you find this happening to you, consider these 4 ways I use to find a topic to write about:
Google Alerts:Google Alerts are keyword searches you can setup via Google which will run every day, or week, or even up-to-the-minute. The search results will be emailed to you based on the frequency you have the Google Alert executed. I have a handful of these alerts setup to perform searches based on blogging and social media terms.
From time to time, I will be reviewing eBooks and books which I feel will be of benefit to you. I won’t waste your time or mine by reviewing anything which I feel is crap. Out of all the blogs I follow on a regular basis, I can honestly say Yaro Starak’s Entrepreneur’s Journey has been the most influential on my young blogging career. I’ve been following Entrepreneur’s Journey for the last couple of years. In that time, I have learned a lot not only about blogging but also how to run a blog as a business. That is why I find his free report Blog Profits Blueprint (affiliate link) to be essential reading for anyone new to professional blogging or wanting to take their blog to the next level.
The main selling point of the free report is that it is a key to helping you (the reader) become a professional blogger and potentially earn a full-time income from a blog. Does it live up to this claim? It does if you truly want to become a professional blogger who earns a respectable income from your blog.
The gist of the post is how some people have low expectations for what they want for themselves or want to be which results in them never fully realizing their potential or having the life they truly want. It’s a great post which is well worth reading (that is, after you finish reading this one ) The reason why I’m writing about it is because I truly believe one of the main reasons why most people don’t achieve much in their life is because of their expectations. I know because I have been guilty of it myself.
